Discipline setup and assignments

Disciplines organize your company by functional area and enable discipline-scoped strategic work.

What is a discipline?

A discipline is a functional area or business unit:

  • Engineering — Software development
  • Design — Product and UX design
  • Product — Product management
  • Sales — Sales and business development
  • Finance — Financial planning

Disciplines are optional—you don’t have to use them.

Create a discipline

  1. Go to Settings > Disciplines
  2. Click + New Discipline
  3. Enter:
    • Name — e.g., “Engineering”
    • Description (optional) — What this discipline covers
  4. Click Create

Assign discipline leaders

  1. Go to Settings > Disciplines
  2. Click a discipline
  3. Click + Assign Leader or + Add Leader
  4. Select a person
  5. Click Assign

Assign people to multiple disciplines

They’ll see content from all their disciplines.
